Working with
Carbon Sun
Every leader. Every organisation. Every conversation is different.
There is no single way of working with Carbon Sun.
Some people seek a confidential therapeutic relationship to better understand themselves and the psychological experience of leadership.
Others are looking for a structured reflective space to think more clearly about complex decisions, relationships or responsibility.
Organisations may wish to support an individual leader, strengthen a leadership team or explore the psychological dynamics shaping culture and performance.
Rather than offering standardised programmes, every engagement begins by understanding what is needed before deciding how we might work together.
The information below explains the different ways of working and the associated fees, allowing you to decide whether Carbon Sun feels like the right fit before making contact.
Ways of Working
Executive
Psychotherapy
A confidential therapeutic relationship for leaders seeking deeper psychological understanding, lasting personal change and greater freedom in how they lead.
Reflective
Practice
A professionally facilitated space to step back from immediate demands and think clearly about responsibility, relationships, decisions and organisational dynamics.
Organisational
Services
Psychologically informed support for individual leaders, leadership teams and organisations through therapy, reflection, workshops, consultancy and retained partnerships.
Executive Psychotherapy
Initial Consultation
The initial consultation provides an opportunity to understand what has brought you to Carbon Sun, discuss how I work and consider whether executive psychotherapy feels like the right approach.
There is no obligation to continue.
Where we both feel the relationship is appropriate, this meeting may become the beginning of our work together.
Executive Psychotherapy
Executive psychotherapy provides a regular confidential space to explore the psychological experience beneath leadership.
Together we may explore responsibility, identity, confidence, perfectionism, relationships, authority, burnout, uncertainty, transition or recurring patterns that no longer feel helpful.
Weekly sessions generally provide the strongest continuity, particularly at the beginning, although the rhythm of the work is always discussed together.
There is no predetermined programme or fixed duration. Some work is focused around a particular transition or challenge. Other work develops over a longer period as deeper understanding emerges.
Extended Executive Psychotherapy
Some periods of work benefit from additional time.
Extended sessions allow greater depth where a standard session may feel too limited and can be particularly valuable during significant transitions, complex decision-making or where travel makes less frequent meetings more practical.
Extended sessions are offered by agreement when they best support the therapeutic work.
Reflective Practice
Individual Leadership Reflection
Not every leader is seeking psychotherapy.
Some simply need a dedicated space to think.
Individual Reflective Practice offers a professionally facilitated conversation that enables leaders to step back from the immediate demands of their role and think more clearly about responsibility, relationships, difficult decisions and organisational dynamics.
It is neither coaching nor performance management.
It is an opportunity to develop greater awareness, perspective and psychological space for thoughtful leadership.
Organisational Services
Organisation-Funded Executive Psychotherapy
Many organisations recognise the value of providing confidential psychological support for senior leaders.
Organisation-funded executive psychotherapy allows leaders to engage in therapeutic work while the organisation funds the relationship.
Before work begins, a clear agreement establishes practical arrangements, payment and confidentiality.
The therapeutic relationship remains confidential. No personal session content is shared with the organisation unless explicitly agreed by the client or required by professional or legal responsibilities.
Leadership Team Reflective Practice
Full Day | From £2,000
Leadership teams spend considerable time making decisions.
Far fewer create space to understand how they make them.
Leadership Team Reflective Practice enables teams to slow down, notice recurring patterns and think together about trust, authority, communication, conflict, responsibility and organisational relationships before they become entrenched.
Particularly valuable during growth, succession, organisational change, restructuring or periods of sustained pressure.
Psychologically Informed Leadership Workshops
Full Day | From £3,000
Traditional leadership development often concentrates on behaviours and skills.
Carbon Sun workshops explore the psychology beneath leadership itself.
Each workshop is designed specifically for the organisation and may explore:
• The Architecture of Responsibility™
• Confidence and Identity
• Trust and Psychological Safety
• Burnout and Sustainable Leadership
• Authority and Boundaries
• Difficult Conversations
• The Psychology of Change
• Relational Leadership
Every workshop is developed around the organisation’s particular context and leadership challenges.
Leadership & Culture Consultancy
Many organisational difficulties appear operational on the surface but are sustained by deeper psychological and relational dynamics.
Leadership and Culture Consultancy begins by understanding the organisation before proposing interventions.
Depending upon the brief, work may include stakeholder conversations, leadership observation, facilitated reflection, organisational analysis and carefully considered recommendations.
Every consultancy engagement begins with a confidential scoping conversation.
Retained Organisational Partnership
Some organisations value an ongoing psychologically informed relationship rather than isolated interventions.
A retained partnership provides continuing access to executive psychotherapy, reflective practice, leadership consultation and organisational thinking throughout the year.
This enables support to develop alongside the organisation rather than responding only after difficulties have become established.
Fees
The fees above are intended to provide transparency rather than fixed packages.
Organisational engagements vary according to scope, preparation, participant numbers, stakeholder interviews, travel, reporting requirements and the complexity of the work.
Following an initial conversation, a detailed proposal will be prepared where appropriate.
Practical Information
Private sessions cancelled with less than 72 hours’ notice are ordinarily charged at the full fee unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed in advance.
Separate contractual terms apply to organisational engagements.
Where applicable, VAT will be charged in accordance with current UK legislation and confirmed before work begins.
